Featured Car: Frank’s 1958 Chevy Impala

The movie American Graffiti helped make the 1958 Chevy Impala popular among classic car enthusiasts. D&P Classic Chevy performed a complete extreme makeover on one of the most iconic Chevys ever built. The goal was to build an in your face type hot rod that was fast, loud, and fun to drive. A complete body off the frame restoration was completed using some of the best parts in the automotive aftermarket. For power a GM Performance Parts 502 cubic inch fuel injected RamJet engine was selected. The 502 was mated to a 2004R 4 speed automatic transmission. A Ford 9 inch differential with 3:70 gears and a trac-loc was also utilized. For comfort and safety modern power steering with an Ididit tilt column along with 4 wheel Baer brakes were installed. Vintage air conditioning helps keep the custom leather interior with late model bucket seats cool inside. The slick black PPG paint is accented by very subtle pearl ghost flames. This 58 is not only a blast to drive but Frank the owner reports it gets around 15 mpg. How’s that for going green?
